Products Description
14NiCrMo13-4 / AISI 9316 as also named in US standards is a case hardening steel used in forgings to eg rock drilling tools.
Application of 14NiCrMo13-4
• Gears bear high stress, and parts in use are easy to wear and fatigue.
• Under quenching and tempering conditions: safety critical components.
14NiCrMo13-4 features
• High mechanical performance.
• Good fatigue strength.
• After carburizing, quenching and tempering, the surface hardness is about 730 HV.
• The carburized layer has good toughness.
• For some carburizing applications, gas pressure quenching can be used instead of oil quenching to minimize the deformation caused by heat treatment.
